IBS 365 : Tips For Living Well is a book by Barbara B Bolen PhD. She is a clinical psychologist trained in cognitive behavioral therapy.
Research has shown CBT can be helpful for patients with IBS and surprised to find a lack of self-help books she could recommend to her patients she decided to write one herself.
The book consists of 365 bite sized morsels of advice covering all aspects of coping with IBS from what IBS actually is, symptoms, treatment options, diet, symptom relief, and how to cope with all the aspects of daily life and stress management that IBS makes so troublesome.
The way it is split up into lots of little tips makes it very convenient to read. You can easily snack on a couple of pieces of advice while waiting for the bus or riding the MRT.
The book is available from the local library (616.342) with lots of copies so you won’t have to wait, and is well worth picking up for a quick read.
